Net Station 4.2

ns4_logo

Net Station is a powerful and extensible acquisition and analysis environment for use with the Net Amps and Geodesic Sensor Net. Net Station 4.2 runs on Mac OS X.

Written from the ground up to work with dense-array EEG, Net Station features real-time manipulation and collection of a continuous 256-, 128-, or 64- channel data stream. It also works equally well with 32-channel data collected with a 32-channel HydroCel GSN.

The design features simple and intuitive interfaces while maintaining flexibility and power.

The three main Net Station components are Acquisition, Review, and Analysis.

Acquisition Features

  • EEG acquisition up to 1000 Hz.
  • Automatic configuration of software based on Geodesic Sensor Net layout.
  • User-designed Acquisition Setups via visually based Workbench.
  • User-controllable amplifier settings for calibration, sampling rate, impedance testing, and diagnostics.
  • Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) Workbench device for near-real-time display of spectral data.
  • Photic-stimulator Workbench device for interfacing with the ATES PH80 photic stimulator.
  • Digital-video Workbench device for synchronized images with FireWire cameras.

Review Features

  • Offline display of FFT data using a combination of Net Station's preset frequency bands or as many as six user-definable bands.
  • FFT data display in Net Station's Grid, Topo Plot, or Topo Map views with a user-definable time window.
  • Joint time frequency (JTF) data display in Net Station's Grid and Topo Plot views.
  • Synchronized digital video and EEG playback.
  • Presentation of topographic data in 2D movies or 3D texture maps (ready for rendering onto 3D head models).
  • Exporting of files to Persyst or MATLAB file formats.
  • Printing of Chart, Topo Plot, and Topo Map views to printer or PostScript file.

Analysis Features

  • JTF wavelet transform to examine frequency information over time.
  • Finite impulse response (FIR) filter for short-segment data that minimizes phase distortion at the end of segments.
  • Input from tab-delimited text files and Persyst CSV files for adding events into Net Station Recording and Session files.
  • T-test for single- and multiple-subject files.
  • Segmentation and markup of files based on user-selected criteria.
  • Bad-channel replacement using spherical splines.
  • Linking of multiple tools to streamline workflow.
  • Ability to batch files for large jobs.
