Clinical Products
EGI's Clinical Geodesic EEG Systems are designed to improve patient care while recognizing the realities of today's cost-constrained health-care system. EGI's 128- and 256-channel dEEG systems allow you to see—in an intuitive topographic view—clinically relevant aspects of the EEG not visible with conventional EEG systems. For children, new research shows that greater sampling density of the brain's electrical activity is required than for adults. (Grieve et al., 2004). EGI's 32- and 64-channel systems provide distinct benefits over other conventional EEG systems with rapid sensor application, painless EEG recordings, and faster workflow to improve daily productivity. Faster Procedures and Happier PatientsWith the patented Geodesic Sensor Net, EEG electrode application is fast and painless with no scalp abrasion and no pastes. Faster, painless exams result in happier patients and greater clinic productivity. Eliminating the need for abrading the skin also reduces infection risk to your patients. The GSN design is based on EGI's patented geodesic tessellation technique that evenly spaces electrodes through a web-like structure. This evenly distributes the tension at each sensor pedestal, providing comfortable radial compression, uniform distance between sensors, and a comfortable form fit to each patient's head. Clinical Support and TrainingEGI staffs a strong team of seasoned support engineers to provide the excellence in support that EGI is known for. In North America, the purchase of a GES 300 system typically includes a three-day on-site installation and training visit by a dedicated support engineer, followed by tutorials and a full library of product manuals. Each system also comes with two tuition waivers to EGI's Summer School, which is held in Oregon each year. EGI offers a Basic training course for new system users and an Advanced training course for those looking to maximize the advantages of their system. Additional on-site training can be arranged by contacting the EGI Support Team. Powerful Whole Head EEG
Compared with traditional systems, which typically record only 19 to 21 channels, EGI systems routinely record 128 to 256 channels of EEG. More electrodes provide information from more areas of the brain. This gives physicians a better definition of the brain activity for a more comprehensive diagnosis. From our pioneering sensors and amplifiers to our state-of-the-art software, EGI systems include technological advances that allow for the powerful processing and analysis of dense array EEG. All of this adds up to the highest possible recording quality of dense array EEG. With a high-quality recording, physicians can be confident they are making the most accurate diagnosis possible. The GES 300 is the first practical dEEG system for clinical use. Bring even the toughest cases into focus with the GES 300's high-resolution dEEG. Whole-head dEEG recording allows rapid identification of clinically relevant information, capturing EEG from inferior sources in the brain. You can view recordings as waveforms, topo plots, or topo maps—all with the montages and channel counts you prefer.
The GES 300 series provides both clinical productivity and a powerhouse of research tools included at no additional cost. One system brings the resources needed to pursue a clinical research agenda without sacrificing clinical productivity. Grieve, P.G., Emerson, R.G., Isler, J.R., & Stark, R.I. (2004).
