Rigorous Quality System
- Cleared for sale as a medical device in the US
- CE marked under the Medical Devices Directive
- Yakuji from MHLW of Japan
- Designed and built under the ISO-9001:2000 Quality System
- Canadian Medical Device License (Homologation d'un instrument medical)
High-Quality, Cutting-Edge Amplifiers
- High input impedance of 200 MOhms
- Both common-mode (90dB) and isolation-mode (120dB) rejection
- EEG sampling at 1,000 Hz for all 256 channels
- Highpass hardware filter at 0.1Hz or 0.01 Hz (Bessel or elliptical)
- Lowpass hardware filter from 400 Hz to Nyquist
- 16-bit A/D conversion, with a dynamic range of ±2,500 µV
and precision of 76 nV
Innovative Sensor Positioning
System
- Unique geodesic tessellation of the head results in even distribution
of sensors
- Uniform, radial compression across head for extra comfort, no "pressure
points"
- 10-20 electrodes approximated by EGI sensor positions
- High accuracy in repeated placement and by different EEG technicians
Specialized Electrode Design
for Patient Comfort
- HydroCel design provides hydrating chamber for interface to scalp
- Low-profile design minimizes movement artifact
- HydroCel CleanLeads® Teflon-core coaxial wires reduce both line
noise and triboelectric effect
- HydroCel HS formulation provides extra recording stability and
enables long-term applications
Integrated Software Design
- Net Station software designed from the beginning to handle high-channel-count,
whole-head EEG
- 64-256 channels are easily displayed across multiple windows and
monitors
- Each view tailored for efficient insight into data

Digital Video Integration
- Common FireWire digital video cameras can be used without ANY software
modification
- Frame-by-frame synchronization
Whole System Integration
- EGI's system is designed from the beginning to work as a whole system
- Amplifiers, Geodesic Sensor Nets, electrodes, and software all
work together
- Not pieced together from existing technology
Other Information
- How long do the Nets last?
- Each GSN is designed for a normal life of two years, with daily
use
- Care of the GSN greatly affects the life span
- Some labs report GSNs lasting as long as 5 years
- Regardless, each GSN is covered for a minimum of 1 year, by
warranty
- An extended warranty can be purchased for 1 additional year
- What about repairs?
- Each EGI Geodesic EEG System is covered by a 1-year warranty
- Extended warranties can be purchased for 1 additional year
- Should a part need to be repaired, please call our technical
support department for an RMA number
- Every effort will be made to repair and return the GSN to you
in the shortest amount of time
- Who do I call for support?
- EGI has a technical support staff, ready to answer questions
24/7
- During regular business hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST,
phone and email support are available
- After-hours support is available on a per-incident fee; calls
will be forwarded to the support engineer on-call
- Email support is always available, answered within 1 hour during
regular business hours or first thing the next morning, after-hours
- Additionally, our support staff can, if requested, log into
your Geodesic EEG System remotely to implement software fixes
and to diagnose hardware problems
- What about documentation?
- Full documentation is available for each EGI Geodesic EEG System
